Last week, I contributed to Locks of Love. No, not the kind of locks left by lovers on all the bridges of Paris.
 |
| You might call these locks of love, but I certainly had nothing to do with them. |
Instead, in honor of spring and new beginnings, I donated my hair to
Locks of Love, a US-based non-profit organization which accepts donations of hair 10 inches or longer to make wigs for children with cancer or other medical conditions resulting in hair loss.
After a few snips and twists, the hair that had hung half-way down my back was ready to be stuffed inside an envelope and sent off to a better cause.
With the nape of my neck suddenly exposed and strands of hair hardly long enough to tuck behind my ears, my new look was achieved. Sporting such a cut, I can even imagine myself being a professional someday soon... maybe. Sadly, I've had no photographer friends around to help document the change over the past half week. Since I've been dying to share, I did my best to be artsy at my window tonight.
