Bastille Day 2013

Armed with two liters of Earl Grey martini, we did Bastille Day right this year. My parents and myself included, we were a crowd of nine chez moi, more reasonable than last year's eighteen. Not to fear, we still managed to take care of the full two liters, plus a couple of bottles of champagne and some bourbon. As such, we enjoyed the fireworks in good spirits from a view that was second to none. A special note, in a nod to the recent legalization of gay marriage in France, the Bastille Day celebrations included some rainbow lighting on the Eiffel Tower.
This view from my apartment once a year makes all my rent worth every penny.
I would sign off with a cheer of Happy Bastille Day! Or Happy Fourteenth! Or something along those lines, but the French don't seem to do that sort of thing. *Sigh.* That's a more proper French note to end a patriotic post. Le sigh.
