Diametrically opposed to my time spent as a lost tourist in Chicago, my time in and around Philadelphia was crammed with catching up with friends and family. Between time with newlyweds Sylvia and Peter, some high school friends, my parents, grandparents, cousins, and one of my sets of aunts and uncles, I hardly had time to catch my breath and repack my bags, which finally found me upon landing in Philly, skipping the Chicago leg of my journey.
After all my time spent in cities, I was struck by being surrounded by so much green, not to mention the rest of the colors my mom with which my mom has sculpted her backyard gardens:

| A trip back home in summer means checking out Mom's gardening work. |
And I was thrilled to manage to gather all but two of my cousins (including honorary cousin Ed who's not actually a blood or legal relative but still counts) for a big family farewell dinner on the night before I flew out.
 |
| Half of the cousins met up first at our grandparents' place to say hi before dinner. |

| Feeling the love: Almost all the cousins (2 down, 1 of whom is in currently in Seoul) rallied for a dinner on my last night in the States. |
I didn't remember to whip out my camera too much during this half of my travels, and the stories mostly happened over coffees, brunches, and dinners, not leaving me much material to recount. Nonetheless, it was a lovely chance to see familiar faces at a moment other than during the Christmas rush.
